Set music, background sound, and the effects that play when the flow changes.
  1. Create a new Switch or open the settings for an existing Switch.
  2. Select the Sound tab.
  3. Choose music and ambient sound, then choose whether to use sound effects.
  4. Preview the ambient sound, check its volume, and save.

01

Choose music

You can connect music to a Switch in the following ways:

  • No Music: Use the timer and other settings without music.
  • Curated: Choose an included genre and playlist. Some music may need to be prepared first, depending on your plan and its download status.
  • Apple Music: Connect an available Apple Music playlist.
  • Local Music Folder: Choose a music folder on the Mac, iPhone, or iPad where you are editing the Switch.

Apple Music playback depends on the current device's access and availability. A local folder's location and folder access are not shared across devices, so check the selection on each device where you will use it.

02

Add ambient sound

In addition to music, choose a background sound such as white, pink, or brown noise, rain, ocean, forest, fire, or stream. Preview the sound and adjust its volume.

You can use music and ambient sound together or use only one. While the Switch is running, you can control each sound separately.

03

Start, end, and transition sounds

Choose whether to play an effect when a Switch starts or ends. You can also turn transition sounds on or off for the moment a Countdown changes between focus and a break. These settings do not select a particular effect.

For a quiet flow, turn off all effects and use only music or ambient sound.
