01
Understand the three levels of notification permission

- Apple system permission: Allow notifications from OneCentrate on the current device.
- App-wide permission: In OneCentrate Settings, turn on ki.log and Pulse notifications and Switch sounds.
- Card settings: Choose the notification times and types for ki.log and Pulse, and the devices that receive them.
The operating system, app, and card settings must all be enabled for notifications to arrive on the device you want.
02
Check system notifications and app permissions
Check system notification status in Settings > NOTIFICATIONS / SOUNDS. If you have not made a choice yet, OneCentrate asks for permission. If notifications are already blocked, select the relevant item to open Apple system settings.
- Switch: Separately allow start and end sounds, focus and break transition sounds, and the sound that plays before a session ends.
- ki.log: Turn on app-wide notifications, then choose notification times and devices for each list.
- Pulse: Turn on app-wide notifications, then choose start and end notifications and devices for each rhythm.
For the exact location of each control, see Set language, display, and notifications.
03
Check access to photos, files, and Apple Music
- Photos and backgrounds: On iPhone and iPad, choose an image with Apple’s photo picker. On Mac, use the photo library or file picker. OneCentrate imports the image into app storage.
- Local music: On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, access depends on the folder you selected and where its files are currently stored.
- Apple Music: MusicKit permission and access to playable Apple Music content are required.
If a photo or file exists only in iCloud and has not been downloaded to the current device, it may not load in the picker. Download it first, then choose it again. Imported card photos and HOME backgrounds use the copy stored by the app, but if you move a local music folder, you must choose that source again.
04
Check requirements for widgets and system surfaces
Widgets, Control Center, Live Activity, Dynamic Island, and Apple Watch are not controlled by a single permission in the app. Device and operating system support, system settings, and the current state of each feature must all meet their requirements.
For setup steps and display requirements, see Use widgets, Use Live Activities and Dynamic Island, and Use OneCentrate on Apple Watch.
05
Check each device you plan to use
- Open OneCentrate on the Mac, iPhone, or iPad where you need notifications or sound.
- Check Apple system permission and OneCentrate-wide permission.
- Check the card’s days, times, selected devices, and any exception for the current date.
- Check the volume, Silent Mode, and current audio output device, then test a notification or session once.
A feature working on another device does not mean permission is enabled on the current device.
